We’re Fair Game

The gods don’t pussyfoot lightly
Goddesses wanna settle scores
Warrior gods assemble their armies
Celestial queens make the red rains pour

Zeus is like a billionaire, got eyes for the ladies
Loki will fool you time & time again
Demeter wastes the planet just to needle Hades
Get Pele angry she’ll blow your mind, my friend

And don’t forget the frost giants stormin’ Jötenheim
In Greece, Titans tear Mount Olympus down
Shiva sliced the head off his only son: malice, spite
Kamoho just might eat you if you’re swimmin’ around

Now girls you be careful if you think you’re more lovely
Than gorgeous Aphrodite clamshell-surfing the waves
And boys you watch out watchin’ Artmemis bathin’
You’ll be dead as a doornail hound dogs digging your grave

Move over Big Brother, dictators, autocrats
There be eyes in the sky, ears in heaven
You can read my emails, hack into my bank accounts
But the gods can see my heart, my hidden shame

They got X-ray vision, they can see the future
They live in more dimensions than the customary three
They can shapeshift, disappear, manipulate the universe
And you think you’re afraid of the KGB?

Kali’s got a skull belt wrapped around her waist
She’s gotta sword, gotta trident, gotta severed head!
Seen Durga’s tiger, seen her arsenal of fate?
She’s got bows & arrows, she ain’t raising the dead

And Pele’s sister, Nā-maka-o-Kahaʻi
Death by drowning is her stock and trade
Lizard goddess Kala-mai-nu'u, she
Got Puna-ai-koa'e locked up in a cave

Unhinged Ares craves the chaos of war
Endless violence earned him Zeus’s s scorn
Ares’ lover sows discord, his sons fear and terror
Demon Ky-do-i-mos “Din of Battle” roars

Ragnarok feasts on the life-blood of fated men
Paints red the sky with crimson gore
Black now the sun's beams, the 9 worlds bitter end
Wolf-ripped to shreds in the endless storm

Move over Big Brother, dictators, autocrats
There be eyes in the sky, ears in heaven
You can read my emails, hack into my bank accounts
But the gods can see my heart, my hidden shame

They got X-ray vision, they can see the future
They live in more dimensions than the customary three
They can shapeshift, disappear, manipulate the universe
And you think you’re afraid of the KGB?

Move over A.I., move over one-party rule
Thor’s hammer smashes everything to smithereens
Shiva the Destroyer pops the bubbles of existence
You catchin’ my drift, you knowin’ what I mean?

We may be specks of stardust, but we’re still no more than dust
From ashes to ashes to ashes again
There be gods above, goddesses below
To them it’s all an eternal game

We’re fair game…
