Aloha e Sienna!

I’ve updated the lyrics which you’ll find here: Dreamtime lyrics.

OK, here’s a “patched-together” version of “In the Dreamtime.”

When I recorded this last year, I prepared verse-chorus “chunks” to play over and over again in the studio. I then did multiple takes. I didn’t bother with intro, bridges, instrumental, and outro.

So instead of having a”stitched-together” complete song, you’ve got the verse-verse—CHORUS chunks with a snare in between to give you the tempo before each odd-numbered verse.

Again:

  • This song is now too high for me to sing (in this key), especially in the chorus

  • With another year of working with Jeremy Wong, I’d sing it better this summer than last!

  • (I’m cringing in certain parts… : )

  • I’ve no doubt you can make this much better, as Kathleen did decades ago!

I’ll get working on a score for the melody, but don’t have time today. Again, any score will be “approximate”!

Warmest aloha!

Aloha e Sienna!

Here you will find music for “The Mother & The Child,” a song I wrote for the very-Catholic lead singer of Peripheral Visions, a prog-rock band I was in back in… the 1990s!

Here’s the tune recorded live in 1995.

It was not recorded with good equipment. It was recorded on a cassette!

But you’ll get a good sense of the song, and how much of it depends on the singer!

I’ve cleaned it up as best I can.

Because this was live, Kathleen ended up singing all the chorus versions at the end.

The slightly-different lyrics I sing in 2022 are here: The Mother & The Child.

I’ve played this as communion music at Holy Nativity, just me an my 12-string.

And here’re the very beginnings of the backing tracks we’ll use at Blue Planet Sound when you sing, should you choose to accept and keep this mission.

These tracks will develop a lot—I’ll post significant updates here—but the basics are in place.

No singing, but the melody line is there.

Looking forward to working with you!

(Will now find where the other music is!)

Warmest aloha,

Cat
