THE MOTHER & THE CHILD (1995)
The Mother & The Child
Music & lyrics, 1995
Starlight——
A baby
A baby
Starlight——
A mother
A mother
The mother and the child
Reaching for eternity
The mother and the child
There is a story to be told
Oh the child
The call to destiny
He will grow
He will grow
He will grow
He will grow
Dark night——
A man dies
A man dies
Dark night——
A man lies
A man lies
The mother and the child
Crying out infinity
The mother and the child
There’re no more stories to be told
Oh the child
Even tho’ it’s hard to breathe…
He will grow
He will grow
He will grow
He will grow
Sunlight——
A man walks
A man walks
Sunlight——
A man talks
A man talks
The mother and the man
The gentleness of a love that dreams
The mother and the man
The story of the universe is told
Oh the child
In his presence we are heard
To be known
We are known
To be known
We are known
The mother and the man
The beauty of a love that sings
The mother and the man
The spirit of the universe unfolds
Oh the child
In his presence we are seen
To be known
We are known
To be known
We are known

2023 — backing track as of 06.23.23 — NO vocal line
As of Friday 06.23.23
1995 — Live version of “The Mother & The Child”
This recording was a last-minute idea from the guy manning the mixer at a live performance. It’s far from balanced, but it’s the best there is from 19915: the band broke up not long after this recording!
2023 — Backing Track (as of 06.05.23) WITH vocal line melody
This unmixed backing track has a virtual soprano singing the melody line. As this fake soprano’s performance will never be used (other than to learn the melody) not much effort has gone into making it sound as good as it might. That said, a little reverb went a long way to improving it!
IN THE DREAMTIME (1995)
“Dreamtime” backing track
Below you’ll find backing tracks to practice with, if you so desire.
Each repeats the whole song twice, without instrumentals with a contain before each segment.
Tracks 1 and 3 have faux vocals that do a reasonable job of following the melody line.
Tracks 2 and 4 are identical, but without a vocal line.
Tracks 1 & 2 have a sparse accompaniment.
Tracks 3 & 4 have a fuller accompaniment.
06.27.23 Backing Tracks “In the Dreamtime”
(1) Count-in / verse1 / verse2 / CHORUS1
(2) CIn / v3 / v4 / CH 2
(3) CIn / v5 / v6 / CH 3 / CH4
Earlier audio reference; can probably ignore now!
